Affiliate Business's MUST KNOW TERMS

Ad Formats

- Types of advertisements that appear on your page: banners, popups, popunders, etc.

Currently, there are two popular advertisement formats: In-Page and Window.

In-Page - advertisements requires space on the web page itself.

In order to achieve good click-through rates, these in-page banners are generally placed at prominent places on the page to attract visitor's attention.

Window Format - advertisements show up when a web page is accessed.

Depending on the type you choose, the ad may load up before or after your page. The ones that load up before your page are called Pop-Ups. On the other hand, the ones that load "behind" your page are called Pop-Unders. The Interstitials are full page advertisements that load up in the same window as your page, it works as a transition page and transfers the visitor to your page after a specified amount of time (i.e. 10 seconds). Another type of window format ad is called the "InVues", these ads are typically small square or rectangular windows that "float" on top your page. They can be closed manually by the visitors and are known to be the best performed type among window-format ads.
