Publisher
The owner of the website(s). There are usually three parties involved in a online advertisement deal: the advertiser, the publisher and the third party who organizes the affiliate program. Usually, the advertise pays directly to the third party agent, and the third party manages the affiliate program and places the advertiser's banners on the publisher's website(s). By doing the in-between transactions, the third party agency takes away a chunk of the advertise payments and distributes the rest to the publishers. If you sign up for an affiliate program, you have applied to be a publisher for that program. |
