BandwidthA term for the measurement of how much data flow your traffic generates (usually on a monthly basis).
If your website run on html codes and has little to no graphics, then bandwidth shouldn't be your top concern. On the other hand, if your website uses TONS of high quality graphics and has large files for downloads, then the allowed monthly bandwidth will be your top concern when selecting web hosts.
NEVER believe a company who claim to offer you UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH, this is simply an unrealistic offer they are unable to give you. When a company claims to give you unlimited amount of bandwidth, it basically means, they will not measure your bandwidth use byte by byte everyday, but once your usage is ABOVE the amount they expect or can offord to offer you based on the money you pay them, they will halt your hosting service and immediately contact you for more money or asking you to leave.
In most cases, you want to be sure that your website does not use MORE than allowed amount of bandwidth. The extra-bandwidth fee can be extremely expensive, sometimes the fees can run up to eight or ten bucks per Gig of bandwidth over used. Hence, your best bet is to select a service that offer you plenty or more - than - enough bandwidth, so you can enjoy the visitors coming to your site without worrying how much bandwidth eacg visitor is going to cost you. |
